 ## Text

 > καὶ αὐτὸς ἔσται μοι εἰς υἱόν;

 ### Psalm 2

 καὶ λαοὶ ἐμελέτησαν κενά;

 ## Observations and Analysis

 ### verses 1-6

 - AV: We observed that this condition of willful rebellion, κατὰ τοῦ κυρίου καὶ κατὰ τοῦ χριστοῦ αὐτοῦ, has been perennial: Babel, the Enlightenment, the French Revolution, now.
 - AV: We noted the start contrast between those violently and angrily thrashing about (Διαρρήξωμεν and ἀπορρίψωμεν), and ὁ κατοικῶν ἐν οὐρανοῖς, sitting in perfect peaceful repose, in no way alarmed or threatened.

 ### verses 7-12

 - AV: I remember Bruce Waltke observing that the Nicene Fathers' use of vs.7 in [the Nicene Creed](http://gknt.org/greek/the-nicene-creed/) (cited below) as a prooftext for the eternal generation of the Son was good practical theology, in response to Arianism, but not really great biblical theology. It has been said that in general the fathers are to be more emulated for their faith and life, than for their hermeneutics.
